The Challenge
M+H Architects, working with mission critical facilities expert, Ascent Corporation and the developer, Koman Group, completed a more than $500 million data center for one of the world’s largest tech companies spanning 707,244 SF located right outside Chicago.
The Solution
Northlake Data Center is the most powerful data center development in Chicago and one of the most powerful in the U.S. The Chicago facility sprawls more than 15 acres, located in direct proximity to a city water pumping station, significant fiber optic bandwidth along adjacent interstate and rail lines, and its own onsite electric substation.
With three 66 MVA electrical substations that provide a total of 198 MW of power. Northlake supports thousands of computer servers that process internet activity and network services for one of the worlds largest tech companies.
