What Sets M+H Apart Series: Culture

News + Insights

We know that cultivating an enriching workplace goes beyond twice-a-year team-building events. At M+H, we want every workday to have opportunities for growth, engagement, and celebration.

Through our intentional onboarding process, professional development, and project kick-off meetings, we make sure every employee knows that they have purpose. We firmly believe good ideas can come from anywhere, no matter your job title. Building on each individual’s strengths, we provide opportunities for each employee to apply their talents, whether through working on the Onboarding Committee or Tech Team, or presenting about a new material or code provision during a Friday Forum.

Our office is designed to encourage conversation; a space where you can grab a cup of coffee and touch base with your co-workers, from everything between discussing a project to the latest Cardinals game. The Thunderdome, our break room, is the arena for our lunch-and-learns, staff meetings, potlucks (or friendly chili competition), and impromptu happy hours. We even have a wellness room for employees to utilize if they need a space to recharge.

We look for reasons to celebrate often, whether passing the infamous T-square to a newly licensed architect, acknowledging a birthday or holiday (like National Sock Day) or just recognizing a project well done. Taking time to appreciate each other is time well spent. We don’t just connect internally; M+H is always looking for ways to connect with our consultants, clients, and the greater St. Louis community. We make an effort to give back through volunteer opportunities and philanthropic drives. We have been known to bowl a few frames with our extended team or celebrate a deadline over tacos.

These combined efforts result in the culture that M+H Architects, the place, radiates. It wouldn’t be possible without enthusiastic employees who appreciate great design and good chili.
