“Day In The Life” snapshot from a Design Professional at M+H

News + Insights

As a design professional, your day to day can vary significantly based on the projects your working on, the phases they’re in, and what is going on in the office. Some weeks you may be traveling for a site visit or a design meeting with a client, and some weeks may be spent at the office collaborating on a set of drawings going out by the end of the week for bidding. That being said, every week is an opportunity to continue to learn and work on your own professional goals in architecture.

At M+H, we value professional development over simply getting the job done – if you’re learning a new skill, such as digging deeper into the code review of a project or collaborating with consultants, our teams will make sure to emphasize getting those experiences through the life of a project. As a design professional, we understand that gaining that breadth of experience, as emphasized in the AXP, is essential to learning to become a competent architect – employees are not pigeon-holed into one task, but rather, experiences all aspects of a project, from master planning, initial design meetings with clients, drawing development, all the way to construction management and beyond.
