“Best New Industrial Project” for Charter Street Cold Storage

News + Insights

We are honored to share that our speculative project, Charter Street Cold Storage, in Columbus, Ohio has been named Best New Industrial Project by the Columbus Business Journal‘s ‘Building Columbus Awards.’

This award celebrates outstanding developments that bring meaningful value to Central Ohio, both economically and architecturally.

For our team at M+H, this recognition reinforces the importance of forward-thinking design, especially within the industrial sector where speed, performance, flexibility and sustainability must go hand in hand.

Completed in 2023, the project was a collaboration between Crawford Hoying, BGO Cold Storage, and Contegra Construction, resulting in a facility that is both strategically located and thoughtfully designed for long-term success.

Earlier this year, the project also achieved LEED Gold Certification from U.S. Green Building Council–a rare and rewarding milestone for a building type known for its high energy demands. This dual recognition speaks to the commitment and collaboration that made this facility not just high performing, but environmentally responsible.

We’re grateful to have worked alongside such visionary partners and proud to contribute to the growth of the Columbus region through smart design that is not only impactful but sustainable. A special ‘thank you’ to everyone who played a role in bringing this project to life. Thank you to the Columbus Business Journal for this meaningful recognition.
