World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT) is one of the largest privately held firms in the country and a four-time recipient of Fortune Magazine’s 100 Best Places to Work. After designing their new 57,200 SF corporate office and renovation of two other Maryland Heights WWT campus offices, M+H was again selected to design this 210,000 SF, 7-story global headquarters building for WWT. In a joint venture with Lodging Hospitality Management, WWT broke ground for their project in December of 2015. Recently completed, this state-of-the-art global headquarters for WWT is an integral part of a revitalized Westport Plaza.
The new headquarters building accommodates up to 1,000 employees. Construction is a combination of glass curtain wall system with an architectural exterior granite rain screen wall system with aluminum composite metal panels and a steel framing system with concrete floors. It features an auditorium, an entry lobby opening to a lower level with cafe seating, a private lakeside patio, a first floor conference center, and a new 5-level, 763 car pre-cast concrete parking structure. A pedestrian access bridge connects the new facility to the updated Westport Plaza campus. This project is pursuing LEED Silver Certification. LEED credits will include alternative transportation, the use of recycled content, 30 percent water use reduction, and a 14 percent increase in overall energy efficiency.
The previously existing WWT campus is connected to the new headquarters campus by a fiber-optic data link and will continue to operate as a technology and innovation park housing the company’s Advance Technology Center, IT and other operations. Both locations will support the continued growth of WWT with annual additions of new employees across the St. Louis Metro area.
