Guest Lodge & Residence
Located in western Warren County, this private Ranch consists of over 2000 acres of rolling, wooded topography. The Ranch is a co-educational and non-sectarian camp for children 7-16 years of age, providing a recreation summer camp opportunity for children, and includes equestrian, archery, camping, ropes course, climbing, fishing and swimming activities.
The camp’s entire eastern boundary borders 3,000 acres of Missouri Conservation land. This state land is also available to campers for horseback riding, camping and hiking. The amenities include seven lakes (well stocked with fish), winding creeks, rolling hills, quiet valleys, lots of trees and flowers, and an old farm house and barn. Besides the beautiful natural surroundings, the Ranch includes many man-made amenities to serve campers. A western theme prevails throughout the camp with buildings such as the general store, dining hall, barn-house, stables and recreation hall. The bunk house has a rustic appearance, but is equipped with modern equipment, including its own laundry room.
M+H Architects provided services for the recreation building renovation, and were asked to provide design for two private, rustic, timber-style lodge structures. The Main Lodge consists of approximately 6,540 SF with large timber framed gathering rooms, dining rooms, kitchen, loft area and private suite. The Guest Lodge structure is a log cabin with bedroom, kitchen, dining and living spaces. Both feature large Lodgepole Pine log trusses and framing with stone fireplaces and many custom light fixtures and features.
