Owens & Minor, a Fortune 500 company, serves 4,500 healthcare customers through their 55 distribution centers coast to coast in the US. They are committed to continuing education and professional development as evidenced by their steadily growing programs and outreach of Owens & Minor University (OMU).
With this new, tailor-made building Owens & Minor will be able to handle more costly, nontraditional items like medical implants and special orders for surgeons. The new distribution facility’s close proximity to the University Hospital system benefits both entities and channeling supplies through a single facility gives the health system a better sense of its inventory and costs.
The build to suit, precast, fully engineered building has been awarded LEED Silver Certification. It includes clerestory windows in the warehouse for natural light, exterior load-bearing wall panels and steel joist-girder/bar joist roof framing, 30’ clear height and an outdoor patio for employees and group functions with a view of Lake Erie.
