Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative has built a 28,920 SF facility on 10 acres of land that the Coop had purchased about a mile north of the city of Pratt, KS. The facility is a combination of a conventional steel frame office structure with metal stud walls and a masonry veneer, and a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) housing a Warehouse, Vehicle Storage, and more offices for the operations functions.
The Office building is 7,720 SF and is clad with a mixture of brick and native Kansas limestone. The roof is a system of light gauge metal trusses and standing seam metal roofing. The PEMB has 6,080 SF of Warehouse space, 12,100 SF of storage area for utility trucks, and 3,520 SF of space for Operations offices and Linemen.
The facility was designed with many energy efficient features including the use of ground-source geothermal energy for heating and cooling, radiant floor slabs in vehicle bays, and LED lighting.
