Jewish Community Center – Chesterfield

Renovation, Marilyn Fox Building

The Marilyn Fox Building of the JCC has undergone a total transformation, taking the facility from a basic fitness center to setting the standard for health and wellness facilities. The fitness area includes rooms dedicated for Functional training, Circuit training, Aerobics, Yoga, and Pilates. The Spinning room includes an interactive lighting and projection system along with a tiered floor. Gymnasium improvements included new interactive fitness training equipment and divider curtains. The locker rooms provided updated lockers and private showering facilities, steam rooms and saunas in each locker room, and a dedicated area for youth. The family friendly facility has a separate family locker room and changing area, complimenting the early childhood department. A teen interactive area provides a fitness and entertainment area tailored to the interests of their generation. A spa area with massage rooms creates a serene environment through the use of building materials, sound and lighting, and acoustic isolation from the rest of the facility. The new conference room, updated meeting rooms with improved acoustic separation, concessions area, reception space and administrative office modifications round out the building renovations. The Marilyn Fox Building is positioned to meet the ever more sophisticated and technologically advanced programs now and into the future.

M+H does an excellent job incorporating all of the detailed answers from the due diligence process and creates a set of design and construction documents that reflect excellence in their finished product. As a matter of fact, in the 4 projects we’ve worked on together, across the board, every Owner was in fact “wowed” by their intuition and interpretation of what the Owner was trying to accomplish in terms of architectural beauty, community image, space program, creativity and flexibility.
