Federated Insurance needed a larger space with a more efficient work flow in order to better serve the rural electric cooperatives in their district. They wanted the new layout to reinforce intentions of staying healthy and fostering collaborating.
To achieve this their new 37,000 SF facility is an open concept layout with large and small meeting spaces, tall ceilings including a clerestory atrium, a fitness room with lockers and showers, a large multi-purpose space, and a breakroom. They wanted ample daylight and views for the office on the second floor so clerestory windows are utilized to harvest daylight.
The exterior reflects the values of the rural electric cooperatives to which they serve. This includes natural materials such as stone, nature areas in the surrounding site, and an outdoor area for employees to gather.
