Cuivre River Electric Cooperative serves Lincoln, Pike, St. Charles, and Warren Counties as a member owned Electric Cooperative. M+H designed the new Lake Saint Louis branch office to replace the existing facility that CREC had outgrown. The facility includes a 64,900 SF office, warehouse and vehicle storage building, and a 12,000 SF vehicle maintenance and covered storage building, all located on 14 acres.
The office is constructed as a tilt-up concrete structure and the vehicle storage and maintenance building are pre-engineered metal buildings. Set in a suburban industrial park location, approval of the aesthetics of the building and visual screening of the material storage yard required special attention and an integrated design solution. The building facade was utilized to provide a large portion of the screening and created an attractive image along Highway N. The scale of the entrance and roof elements were utilized to provide visibility from the street due to the large set back from the property line
We chose M+H Architects because of their reputation and constant communication. M+H did more than design our buildings. They worked closely with us to completely understand how we operate. Their design team helped us determine ways to make our flow of work more cohesive.
