Missouri Military Academy – Stribling Hall

Missouri Military Academy, a junior and college preparatory boarding school for grades 5 through 12, is a beautiful campus on 228 acres in Mexico, Missouri. It is one of the premier all-boy private military boarding schools in the country. MMA has an impressive record of college admission and thousands of accomplished alumni who have assumed positions of authority in business, finance, education, the arts and the military. M+H Architects has developed a great relationship with Missouri Military Academy while working on multiple, significant projects since 2001.

M+H Architects worked with MMA on the reconstruction of Stribling Hall, the campus administration building which was originally built in 1900. The new building, completed in June of 2012, is approximately 16,500 square feet on two levels above grade and one level below grade.

The old Stribling Hall building was demolished to provide space for the new structure.  The new building has approximate 14’ floor-to-floor dimensions to accommodate state of the art heating, ventilating, air conditioning, lighting, information technology, communication and fire protection systems.  The exterior of the building is brick veneer with stone accent elements over steel studs.  The structure is steel frame columns and beams with metal deck and a concrete floor. The exterior design is in keeping with the “Jeffersonian” style of the existing campus architecture and with the original Stribling Hall.

With the new construction, improved glazing, roof and wall insulation exceeds minimum energy code standards. The project has achieved LEED Silver Certification.
