Sysco Food Services - Refrigerated Storage Buildings
Poject DetailsAt 223,500sf, the Charlotte, NC SYSCO set new standards for quality and design, utilizing the proven “L” shaped plan. The dry warehouse and cold dock walls utilize tilt-up concrete wall panels, while urethane panels enclose and separate the low temperature areas. Reflective glass curtainwall and skylights bring a sophisticated image to the 2-story, Class A office element. Ritter SYSCO is the result of the redevelopment of an existing distribution center located in the Liberty Park Industrial area in Jersey City, NJ. With tremendous views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, the facility has easy access to the City and surrounding Newark area. The location justified the 1995 renovation work to the 340,000sf facility that included raising the roof structure for additional clear heights, new insulated industrial floor slabs for freezer/cooler area and a second floor to the office component. In 2002, a 125,000sf freezer/cooler addition, with accompanying warehouse office expansion was completed. The West Palm Beach SYSCO facility followed shortly after the Charlotte project, continuing to refine the prototype. Construction methods were similar to Charlotte, with a new office design that reinforces its corporate office image. Completed in 1998, the project is 280,000sf in area. SYSCO Food Services of Dallas is a new 550,000sf office and distribution facility located in Lewisville, TX. Completed late in 2002, the office portion is approximately 100,000sf with a 2-story entry. It is constructed with insulated panels over a structural steel frame and is zoned to accommodate frozen, perishable and dry goods. The distribution areas have 32’ clear height ceilings. Some features include 5 temperature coolers, an ammonia refrigeration system, specialty floor slabs and underfloor warming systems and a fleet maintenance facility. The 835,000sf Front Royal, VA facility is a new, prototype re-distribution center to serve the Northeast U.S. Accommodating truck and rail service, this structure incorporates state-of-the-art material handling systems and technology to streamline the processing and shipping of product to its regional facilities. Completed in 2004. The San Antonio, TX facility completes a 125,000sf addition of both dry and cooler/freezer components. A new, 15,000sf maintenance and truck wash facility was constructed adjacent to the distribution structure. Completed in 2004. |
