Poject Details

This corporate headquarters for Cutler Hammer, the electrical component division of Eaton Corporation, is responsible for many items utilized in today’s buildings. Their products include the primary electrical switch gear and the power distribution boxes and components necessary for a state of the art electrical system. The building features a central lobby with an interactive computer display system that monitors the building’s electrical system status.

The first floor contains a central cafeteria, workout room and conference areas, with executive offices, accounting, data, sales and distribution offices on the upper floors.

The exterior of the building is brick veneer with large areas of reflective blue glass. The building is powered in emergency conditions by a back-up diesel generator.

In 2007 M+H Architects began work on another project for Cutler Hammer, in the same location in Moon Township, Pittsburgh, PA. This Gold LEED Certified project involves nearly doubling the size of the original building and integrating 3 other Pittsburgh locations into this one.  Eaton, the parent company of Cutler Hammer, is head-quartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and has diversified to include a broad industrial and commercial focus comprising four distinct segments: Electrical, Fluid Power, Truck and Automotive.

This new, three story, 120,000sf office building is connected to the existing building by a three story connection link, including an expansion of approximately 3,000sf to the cafeteria and food service facility.

The addition includes areas for research and development, an executive briefing center for demonstrating the cutting-edge technology offered by their products, and labs for testing equipment.

When first and lasting impressions mean everything, corporations turn to M+H Architects to convey the image that gives the company its unique identity.

When UniGroup acquired Mayflower Transit, their Fenton, Missouri campus had an immediate need for expansion. M+H was selected to design the 190,000sf building for their corporate headquarters. The final product is reflective of the company's growth, while maintaining an aesthetic consistent with the corporate campus image.

DM Management, designer and distributor of women's ready-to-wear by catalog, wanted a new office/distribution facility that would enhance efficiency as well as provide an environment that would express a "sense of community." Sensitive to their corporate philosophy and culture, M+H designed their new state-of-the-art office/distribution facility in Tilton, New Hampshire, with fully automated call center, full service dining area, and a fitness center.

In Pittsburgh, the Cutler Hammer Corporation needed a new corporate headquarters that could represent their high technology electronics. Our team's creative response was a 140,000sf, three-story office building that conveys Cutler Hammer's commitment to innovative electronic technology through interactive equipment and authentic product displays.
